How to Make a Donation

Donations of money, food, clothing are accepted Monday- Friday between the hours of 8am - 3pm.

You may also donate online.

Oasis is a qualified 501(c) charitable organization. "You may deduct charitable contributions of money or property made to qualified organizations if you itemize your deductions." See IRS http://www.irs.gov/Credits-&-Deductions for more info.

Angels and Friends:

The Angels and Friends Program makes it possible to reach more individuals and families in dire need.  A contributor who pledges $25 or more per month for one year signs up as an Angel, while a Friend pledges any dollar amount for that period.

Donate Time

Oasis needs and welcomes volunteers. Hours are flexible to suit the individual. Help in the pantry, thrift shop, and soup kitchen is always needed. Donations of food, clothing, and funds are always welcome. Come visit us and see how you can help, or give us a call.

Application is available at the bottom of the page.

If you have more questions about volunteering, give us a call 397-6060 or email admin@oasissocialministry.org

Donate Food

Last year Oasis distributed over 244,000 pounds of food.  We are always in need of canned meats or tuna, breads, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruits, milk and cereal.  Food and fund drives are at the heart of what we do.  We can help you organize a food drive that will get critical food to the elderly, children and families who need it most.

Volunteering

Volunteers “Are” Oasis

All volunteer opportunities are on a first come-first serve basis. If you would like to reserve a specific day, please let us know as soon as possible. If you are volunteering as an individual (not with a larger group), please fill in the application below.

If you are fulfilling court ordered community service you must contact our intake specialist, Yolanda Ruffin at 397-6060

Soup Kitchen:

Typical days to volunteer are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Oasis provides all the food and materials for these meals. To cook and serve a meal, the volunteer times are 9am-1pm. If you would like to just serve the meal, the times are 11:30am-1pm.  10-12 people is the maximum number of volunteers in the kitchen and 5 is the minimum. To schedule a group to serve on a weekday, call the 397-6060 and ask for our kitchen manager Dwayne Burrell.

We serve lunch on Saturday and Sunday. If you would like to serve on weekend days you must put together a group of people able to prepare and serve as well as provide the food to serve 100+ guests.  The weekend schedule typically fills up a year in advance, so get your requests in as soon as possible. Contact Burgess Hodges at the main Oasis number or by email admin@oasissocialministry.org.

Food Pantry:

We distribute groceries from 9am-12pm Monday-Friday. We can use 3-4 volunteers to assist with this program. Some days may be slower, so we try to make use of everyone by organizing and cleaning in the pantry and warehouse areas. This area typically requires a decent amount of lifting.

Thrift Store:

The thrift store is open from 8:30am-2pm Monday-Friday. During this time we can use up to 4 volunteers to sort through donations and assist with various projects in the shop.

The maximum number of volunteers we can accommodate in one day is 20 (split up amongst different areas). All volunteers must be over the age of 12. There must be one adult for every 3 volunteers under the age of 18.
